Overview

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible Installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairs to industrial mechanical machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, take apart and move machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Plan lifts using rigging and hoisting equipment.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Ability to use precision tools such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators, micrometers and precision and optical levels.
  • Use testing equipment such as vibration analysis as well as other techniques used in predictive and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete all documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Possess the physical and mental capabilities to work under stress and control multiple tasks at a time.
  • Ability to use a Dial and/or a Laser Alignment.
  • Coordinate with other departments and trades persons.
  • Performs related duties as required.

 

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed

  • Overtime On/Call required.
  • Driving (sitting for extended periods, maintaining focus and alertness while operating company vehicle)
  • At times it may be necessary for the sheet metal worker to work outside of the regular workday in order to complete their duties.
  • Travelling out-of-town as required.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Industrial Mechanic-Millwright Certificate/ 433A Red Seal.
  • Underground common core
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, materials and equipment used in the Millwright and related trades.
  • Industrial Experience is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Industrial Millwright: 2 years (preferred)
  • Industrial Mechanic Millwright License (433A Red Seal) (required)
